SASO'S JAPANESE NOODLE HOUSE
218 CENTRAL AVE., ALBANY

Saso's tasty soups nourish the body and feed the soul. A dozen brothy delights will entice vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Our choice is the Vegetable Nabeyaki Udon, which consists mostly of udon noodles (flat, like three-dimensional fettucini), bean sprouts, daikon radish, scallions, seaweed, tofu and shiitake mushrooms, all in a scrumptious veggie broth.

There's also Tempura Soba, a buckwheat noodle soup in a delicate soy broth with vegetables (shrimp's optonal) in a vegetarian broth.

For dumpling lovers, try the Chinese-influenced Gyoza Ramen soup, with vegetable or shrimp dumplings.
